Three Years of Care
Today I visited with a mother who was pregnant with her second child. I delivered the woman’s first baby, a boy, three years ago. During her first pregnancy, I gave the woman advice on her diet, prescribed her iron supplements, and helped her deal with the side-effects that can result from pregnancy, such as nausea. Now, I check on her regularly to monitor her health and the status of her second pregnancy. Recently, I was called to the mother’s house yet again – this time her son was not feeling well and she suspected that he might have bronchitis. After examining the boy, I decided to refer him to the local hospital where they discovered an infection in his throat. Thanks to our efforts and attention, he is now recovering and should be better soon!
