Every Mother Counts

There are 2 ways Good Goes supporters can help Every Mother Count:
Midwifery Training in Afghanistan
Afghanistan is one of the riskiest places on earth for the health of mothers and children. Only 14 percent of births are attended by skilled personnel and maternal and child mortality rates are among the highest in the world. Afghan women face a 1 in 8 risk of dying from complications during pregnancy and childbirth, and 1 child in 5 dies before reaching age 5.
Midwives are critical to the health and survival of mothers and newborns. In partnership with USAID, Save the Children has started a school for midwives in Shiberghan, Afghanistan. A gift of $500 can help provide room and board for one semester ($2,000 for one year) of midwife training; $80 can provide a midwifery kit of supplies upon graduation; $60 can provide books for midwifery training.
Your donation can help us fill the midwife shortage in Afghanistan and save more mothers and children every day.

Support a Local Health Worker
Local health workers are the heroes of our campaign. Help us train frontline health workers in communities around the world to bring lifesaving care to mothers and children in need. Your gift of $150 combined with those of others can provide resources for training programs for health workers who will promote healthy behaviors and diagnose and treat common childhood infections.
