Following Up With Sick Children

This week was busy. I made follow-up visits to the two children who were sick last week to see how they were doing. I made sure the mothers were taking proper care of their children and following my advice. The girl who had the cold is fine now but the boy who had pneumonia was not fully recovered. His breath rate had gone down to normal but he still had a little fever and cough. So I told his mother to continue giving him the syrup.

The next day was National Immunization Day. I went to the houses of all the children under 5 to invite them to come to the vaccination center and get the polio vaccine. This is a good opportunity for me to counsel all the mothers, when they come to the center. I also have a chance to follow up with children who have been sick recently. I was happy to see that the boy with pneumonia was completely better.
