The Joys of Service

I received a Best Community Health Worker award for the work I’ve done in my village to make pregnancies safer! I feel great and am inspired to try to accomplish even more in my work. But honestly, I received my biggest prize long ago, when there were no longer any malnourished children in my area. That was a big change from when I started to work here in 2006. At that time, I was nervous when a visitor would come, even from the Save the Children office. But now I feel good when visitors come. They will see our work and tell others about it, and they will be encouraged to do good work themselves.
